Acura will primarily show the next-generation MDX is a prototype form, but a production version should follow soon after. The premiere will take place on October 14, 2020.
The new 2021 Acura MDX three-row crossover for 6-7 passengers will have a similar appearance to the TLX sedan, which the company recently unveiled, and apparently the same powertrains.
The fourth-generation Acura MDX will likely have the TLX’s turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine, front-wheel drive as standard, and the brand’s SH-AWD system as an option.
A Type S performance version is also expected later on. It will possibly use the TLX’s 3.0-liter 354-hp turbo-six.
A teaser image of the MDX proves this similarity between the two models. The MDX’s pentagonal grille shape is familiar from other Acuras. Compared with the outgoing model, the new MDX looks sharper and more muscular.
We’ll see the car ion full and learn of the details soon.
