2020 Nissan Leaf Enters the U.S. Market, Starts from $31,600

An all-time best-seller among electric vehicles, the new 2020 Nissan Leaf, is now available at the U.S. dealers of the brand. Nissan has announced pricing.

The manufacturer updated the model for 2020. There are two battery choices: 40kWh / up to 149 mi / 147 hp for the Leaf S and SV, as well as 62 kWh / up to 226 mi / 214 hp for the Leaf Plus (S, SV, SL).


The 2020 Leaf has got many new features, including Nissan Safety Shield 360 as standard with AEB + Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning.

The S and SV trims come now with an 8-inch color touchscreen display, which was only on the Leaf Plus before.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is also standard for the 2020 model.

The advanced technologies available include ProPILOT Assist, ePedal, Intelligent Around View Monitor, Intelligent Driver Alertness.

Nissan also added a new premium exterior color – Sunset Drift ChromaFlair.

The EPA-rated driving range is up to 226 miles for the Leaf S Plus version.

The 2020 Nissan Leaf also comes with a new warning sound – “Canto,” for forward movement under 18.6 mph and a pulsing chime when reversing.


The retail prices excluding destination and handling of $925 are the following:

  • Leaf S31,600;
  • Leaf SV $34,190;
  • Leaf S Plus $38,200;
  • Leaf SV Plus $39,750;
  • Leaf SL Plus $43,900.
