The spy photos of the next, eighth-generation Hyundai Sonata sedan have appeared on the Internet. They show the car tested on the public roads in Dubai.
The test prototype of the 2020 Hyundai Sonata sedan is covered with camouflage, though it does not prevent us from seeing the upcoming model’s design.
So, the next Sonata inherits the style of the last-year Hyundai Le Fil Rouge concept car, in particular its sloping roof and side glazing line. The rear lights tied in the bottom with a thin LED strip are similar to those on the latest Santa Fe.
A new 2.5-liter engine 190-hp engine is expected, as well as a turbocharged 2.0-liter T-GDI with output from 250 to 275 hp for a sports N modification, or a 2.5-liter 280-hp one.
A hybrid version may arrive later on. The new generation Hyundai Sonata will be officially presented in April 2019 at the New York Auto Show. The production will start even earlier – in March.
