2020 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid Reached U.S. Dealerships, from $33,400

The new 2020 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid is already available at dealerships in the United States. Prices start from $33,400.

The model combines excellent driving refinement and range with a roomy and comfortable interior. Since its introduction 3 years ago, it has been among the Best Buys award winners.

The vehicle covers 47 miles of electric-only range, when its 17-kWh battery is fully charged, and 340 miles total.

The Clarity PHEV’s American EPA-rated fuel efficiency is 110 MPGe in electric mode and 42 mpg combined, when using a gasoline 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder engine that produces 181-hp and 232 lb-ft of torque. The total system output is 212 hp.

New for the 2020 model is an updated Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS).

Drivers can select between Normal, Econ and Sport driving modes. A special HV mode maintains the battery’s state of charge and can be used in all modes.

The Clarity PHEV comes standard with a Display Audio system and Honda Sensing suite. Interior refreshes include Ultrasude interior trim.

A federal tax rebate and various state rebates are eligible for the new model, plus single-occupant HOV access in California.

The 2020 pricing including $955 destination charge is:

  • Clarity PHEV $34,355;
  • Clarity PHEV Touring $37,555.
