The Audi RS6 Avant’s “younger brother”, which debuted earlier, offers Porsche’s dynamics in a more practical and agressive-looking body.
The 2020 Audi RS4 Avant’s powertrain and chassis are the same as the predecessor’s, but appearance of the newcomer leaves the previous model no chance.
With Audi‘s 8-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive, the RS4 Avant accelerated to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.1 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited at 155 mph (250 km/h).
Exterior updates include a new grille, aerodynamic package, optional matrix LED lighting. In comparison with the base model, the RS version has a wider and flatter Singleframe with RS-specific three-dimensional honeycomb structure in gloss black.
Inside there is a new 10.1-inch MMI multimedia touchscreen. It adopts the functions handled before by the rotary pushbutton on the center console.
Besides, the Virtual Cockpit digital dashboard has been given new graphics to suit the car’s style. It displays specific data such as lap times, lateral overload levels, etc.
European sales of the 2020 Audi RS4 Avant will begin at the end of this month. The starting price is 81,400 euros.
The model arrival in North America is questionable. It will land in Australian showrooms somewhere in mid-2020.
