The all-new Honda Jazz will have a version with a hybrid transmission, as the Japanese automaker officially announced.
Honda has confirmed that it will use the i-MMD hybrid technology for the next-generation Jazz, applied today for the CR-V crossover. True, the gasoline engine will be smaller – 1.5 liters. Torque is transmitted to the front wheels through the variable-speed drive.
The availability of the hybrid version will be an advantage of the new Honda Jazz (Honda Fit in the USA). The main competitors, such as the Volkswagen Polo, Ford Fiesta, Peugeot 208, have no eco-friendly technology.
The Jazz is expected to share the platform with a small HR-V crossover. Probably, the entry-level engine will be a turbo 3-cylinder 1.0-liter 127-hp one.
The next-generation car will be presented at the Tokyo Auto Show later this year.
