Lynk & Co Presented 500-hp Sedan Based On Racing Car
Chinese-Swedish brand Lynk & Co owned by Geely has introduced the 03 concept sedan. The Lynk & Co 03 is a road version of a racing car for WTCR (the World Touring Car Cup).
The prototype is developed together with the Cyan Racing team, which will become a partner of Lynk & Co for the racing season 2019. The car’s output will be 500 hp, and it is all known about the newcomer so far.
The regular Lynk & Co 03 debuted in Chengdu in September 2018. It is built on Volvo’s CMA platform with McPherson pillars at the front and a torsion beam at the rear. The model is offered only with Drive-E turbo engines.
A basic three-cylinder 1.5 motor produces 156 hp and is combined with a six-speed manual transmission. The elder 190-hp 2.0-liter V4 works with a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
Apart from the 03, there are two crossovers in the Lynk & Co model range: the 02 model similar in size to the Volvo XC40 and a larger 01.
Vehicles for the European market will be produced at the Volvo factory in Ghent, Belgium. The first dealership of the brand will open in Amsterdam. Then there will be showrooms in Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels and London.
