Range Rover Electric Spotted During Winter Tests

The Range Rover Electric project is more alive than ever, and spy photos from Sweden prove this.

The Range Rover Electric prototype is undergoing winter road tests in Sweden meaning that this project is not forgotten, postponed, and soon will turn into a production model.

Not much is known about it but something can be said. The crossover, or rather a Shooting Brake by its shape, will arrive in 2025 as an alternative to the Jaguar I-PACE.

It looks more like a sporty style-oriented 5-seater family vehicle than a rugged off-roader, as far as we can judge from the spy shots we came across. However, Land Rover and Range Rover models are designed to tackle the SUV and off-road capability.

So, expect the Range Rover Electric will have an all-wheel-drive system, pack over 500 hp from a duo of electric motors, and will be able to wade over 30 inches of water.

It will sit on the Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) able to support both internal combustion engines and electric motors.

Moreover, the Range Rover Electric will feature an 800-volt electrical system and a high-capacity battery to provide a competitive driving range. The Rover EV will likely require a bespoke active road noise cancellation and a DC fast charger.

Apparently, more spy photos, teasers, and clues will appear closer to a still-undefined premiere date. Tests in hot climates should follow after winter testing regimen.
