Ford’s New Budget sedan: Reinforced Suspension And Off-road Clearance
Ford has introduced a new version of its budget sedan – the Ford Ka Urban Warrior. Actually, the new version’s name makes it clear, that it’d better not to leave the city on this car.
The official premiere will take place at the 2018 San Paulo International Motor Show (Brazil) held in November 6-18.
The company says the launch of the model will depend on visitors reaction. It seems Ford is teasing the audience. The plan for series production of the new modification has been most likely approved.
The new sedan will have a 1.5-liter three-cylinder 140-hp EcoBoost engine paired either with a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox. The front-wheel drive ’off-road’ sedan, unlike the standard car, got a new body kit, plastic pads on the arches and 15-inch wheels.
Despite the apparent incompetence in severe off-road conditions, the Ka Urban Warrior received enlarged road clearance (up to 288 mm) and reinforced suspension.
It is known the car is currently undergoing an active phase of road tests. There is no information about prices yet, but the regular sedan in the Brazilian market costs from $13,000. Obviously, the new version will be more expensive.
