Ford Tests Its New Fiesta-Based SUV In the Arctic Snow
Ford’s new compact SUV has been undergoing its winter test program. This time photographers captured a test mule plunged into the arctic snow.
The new Ford compact SUV has been caught on camera again. We still don’t know what its name will be, and when it reaches showrooms. We assume customers will be able to see the car alive in dealers in a year at the earliest.
The vehicle is based on the Fiesta and probably will be a more spacious, premium and up-to-date replacement for the EcoSport when it arrives. It’ll join the Ford Fiesta Active in the compact SUV segment in Europe, which is crowded enough and highly competitive.
So, the upcoming model won’t get bored, as it has to compete with many cars, including the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, Vauxhall Mokka X, Skoda Kamiq.
Our expectations include a taller ground clearance than that of the Fiesta Active, as well as a range of the latest EcoBoost gasoline engines and a 1.5-liter EcoBlue 4-cylinder diesel; optional 4WD and transmission choices (6-speed manual or automatic).
As for trim levels, they may carry over from the Ford EcoSport and Fiesta. It’s about Zetec, Titanium, ST-Line, Vignale.
As for the pricing, expect figures over the Ecosport’s (from $19,995 in the USA, €15,590 in Germany).
