First Problem On 2019 Suzuki Jimny Revealed

The debut of the next-generation Suzuki Jimny has been a significant event in the automotive world. However, experts have identified an issue with Jimny that raises concerns about its electronic stability program (ESP).

During test rides, Autocar journalists observed a peculiar behavior in the ESP system of the 2019 Suzuki Jimny. In specific turning conditions, the ESP system applied the brakes to a particular front wheel, seemingly attempting to correct a skid that wasn’t occurring.

This resulted in the car swaying from side to side, with the affected front wheel exhibiting a spring-like motion due to the braking impulse from the ESP system. In some cases, this behavior also impacted one of the rear wheels.

Acknowledging the problem promptly, Hiroyuki Yonezawa, the Chief Engineer of the Jimny project, confirmed that the issue was demonstrated on two different test cars.

Suzuki asserts that this behavior was not identified at any stage of the SUV’s preparation. However, following the warning, the company promptly dispatched engineers to investigate. While they successfully reproduced the behavior on the track, they were unable to replicate it on a test bench in Japan.

Suzuki has revealed that continuous activation of the stability control system occurs under specific road conditions, including the angle of inclination and slope.

The automaker admitted that the electronic system’s intervention could cause some discomfort for the driver but assured that it wouldn’t lead to a disruption in the vehicle’s direction.

In response to the issue, Suzuki has committed to conducting further analysis of the problem and carefully evaluating how to adjust the program while maintaining the overall balance of Jimny’s performance.

    Dear Sirs

I am an owner of Suzuki Jimnny Sierra and I have had this serious malfuntion 3 times, with a severe sudden blocking of left front whell caused by mistaken action of ABS sensors or alike.

I almost had a fatal crash, since the car pulled to the left in a slightly ascending curve to the right at 80 km/h, after a sequence of 3 events in a matter of 3 seconds.

I would appreciate if you could inform this accurence in the proper channels, since the retailer , where I purchased the car here in Brazil (Belo Horizonte city, MG) is just substituting the sensor, what seems not to be the real cause of the problem. I LOST MY CONFIDENCE IN THIS CAR !
