Demand for Ford GT Six Times Exceeded Offer
The demand for the Ford GT more than six times exceeded the offer. So, the carmaker will enlarge the supercar’s production by 1,350 units and prolong it for at least two years.
From November 8 order acceptance will be renewed for a month for some markets. It’ll give a chance to customers who want to join the group of selected Ford GT owners.
Potential owners will be able to place their orders at FordGT.com. The applicants together with the Ford GT concierge service will work out a personalized purchase procedure. Approved European customers will get the cars produced from 2020 to 2022.
Earlier Ford confirmed production of a limited series of 1,000 cars within four years.
The Ford GT features a 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine, a carbon fiber body, active aerodynamic elements and a top speed of 347 km/h. Its production started in December 2016.
Moreover, the company has recently announced a release of the new Ford GT Heritage Edition (limited series) in the Gulf Oil Liveries of Heritage Blue and Heritage Orange colors. This version is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Ford GT40 victory in the Le Mans races in the 1968 season.
