The new 2019 Porsche Macan has made its official premiere in Paris. It is already available to order. The company builds it at its factory in Leipzig.

The most prominent new features are three-dimensional LED light panel at the rear and a new fully interconnected Porsche communication management system (PCM) with a 10.9-inch touchscreen inside.

New engine

The model comes with a petrol efficient 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo motor with improved combustion chamber geometry and gasoline particulate filter. It produces 245 hp and 370 Nm of torque and is combined with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The car speeds up to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 225 km/h. Its consumption is 8.1 liters per 100 km according to the NEDC test.

Exterior: what has changed?

The chassis is newly tuned for enhanced balance. The car got new mixed-size tires for better performance, 18-inch wheels in standard and optional 21-inch ones, as well as an intelligent all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system.

The carmaker redesigned and widened the Macan’s front end. It features new all-LED headlights. The Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) option can be used to control light distribution adaptively. Four new exterior colors added: Mamba Green Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, Miami Blue and Crayon.

Digital possibilities

The new Porsche Macan got a wide range of digital possibilities, among which there is a Porsche Connect Plus system (with LTE phone module and SIM card reader) and online navigation as standard.

The Porsche Connect app and Porsche Car Connect app enable the driver to communicate with the vehicle via his smartphone. The Offroad Precision app can be used for off-road experience.

Among new options there is an enhanced traffic assist system, a GT sports steering wheel, options for convenience (a heated windshield, an air ionizer).

The Macan is now available to order in Europe so far. In Germany it costs from EUR 58,763 (with VAT and national specifications). The list of standard equipment has been expanded and now includes LED main headlights, the new PCM with online navigation and Connect Plus, an anti-theft alarm system with interior surveillance.
