American automotive magazine Edmunds has made its regular picks of the best retained value cars of 2019 awarding the models by categories. The 2019 Edmunds Best Retained Value Awards recognize the vehicles with the highest projected resale cost after 5 years of ownership.

When buying or leasing a car which is pricy enough, it is important to know its true value beyond a sticker price and monthly payments.

Owners of vehicles with strong residual values have better chances to reduce the long-term cost of ownership, maximize the money when it comes time to sell or trade-in their cars. Moreover, higher retained value vehicles usually have lower lease payments a month.
